So as to further cultivate students’ favorable reading habits, stimulate their interest in writing, boost their language literacy in addition to constructing a dense scholarly campus culture, on 11th December, after a series of selections in class, the Chinese Department of the 8th and 9th grades of Anqing Foreign Language School’s Junior High Division of the west campus organized some students to conduct the Chinese Discipline Competition.
Firstly in the morning, at the morning reading sessions, the 9th grade carried out the ‘Chinese Ancient Civilization Contest’ which covered a wide range of knowledge with profoundness. During the contest, each student answered questions in earnest, mobilized their sinology knowledge accumulated from ordinary days and completed a fascinating sinology journey.
Moreover, in the afternoon, at the class meetings, the 8th grade initiated the ‘On-the-Spot Writing Competition’ which was uniformly assigned by the Chinese Preparation Group with novel subject design. Also, the contest was close to students’ daily life and encouraged them to express their true feelings. On the other hand, students were supposed to make bold conception and fully display what they thought, considered and heard from different angles and levels within the prescribed time.
In summary, discipline contest was not only an effective platform to cultivate students’ specialty, motivate their learning and build a rich academic culture on campus, but also on a regular basis for Anqing Foreign Language School’s subsequent teaching work. Therefore, in this semester, Anqing Foreign Language School shall launch five discipline contests with eight batches altogether, which will make a special lavish gift for the upcoming New Year!
